I just happened to be rewatching Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy after recently seeing Skyfall and I noticed that the ugly bulldog sculpture M has on her desk is the same that Control has in his office! A nice little nod, I think! Spymasters dig kitschy bulldogs.

In part because I kind of love the idea of them being cross-‘verse drinking buddies and every time Control gets into a nit about Percy, M being like “Yeah? Well at least you don’t have the bloody showboat agent that I’ve got to deal with.”
